DV C.A.R.E.S.

When teachers and staff members notice students exhibiting the DV C.A.R.E.S. expectations, they hand out DV CARES tickets. These tickets are saved by students to be used on special Panther Days, which are events during which students have the opportunity to choose activities to participate in. During these activities, students have opportunities to build positive relationships with staff and with each other as a 4-8 school, while modeling our DV CARES expectations.
Examples of Panther Day Activities include flag football, board games, arts and crafts, academic help, movies, volleyball, basketball, Just Dance, library/reading room, scavenger hunts, and karaoke.
The DV CARES Expectations are taught by all teachers through mini-lessons at the beginning of the year. Each student has a DV Cares Passport in which he/she can take notes and write important reminders for success. The goal of this program is to actively teach, support, reward and sustain the same expectations throughout the entire building. This builds consistency and security for our students, which in turn fosters a positive school culture focused on learning.
DV CARES Raffle
Students have the option to use their DV CARES tickets to enter into drawings for prizes of their choosing. Prizes may include Panther gear, snacks, gift cards, etc.
